Tyne North Training Operations during Coronavirus

General Information: Tyne North Training is continuing to operate, but our office on Embleton Avenue is closed. All staff are working remotely and Training Officers and support staff can be contacted via our usual telephone number or email. Tyne Metropolitan College is now closed and they are delivering online wherever possible. Up to date information can be found on https://www.tynemet.ac.uk/

Employers: Tyne North Training are continuing to support our on-programme apprentices and employers. We are not currently conducting employer visits in person, but we have put in place measures to conduct our activities remotely, either via the telephone or the internet. Our Training Officers will be contacting all our employers with further details of how our operations will be conducted. Tyne Metropolitan College is now closed. You should contact your apprentices to inform them as to whether they are required to attend their workplace. In the majority of cases the apprentices will now be being set tasks to complete online. You should ensure that they are given adequate time during their working hours to complete them

Apprentices: We will continue to support you on your apprenticeship. We will conduct our activities remotely, either via the telephone or the internet. If you are an apprentice who is not able to attend your place of work, then you should always inform your employer in the first instance. We also ask that you inform Tyne North Training so that we can monitor the situation. If you would usually attend Tyne Metropolitan College then you should contact your employer to find out whether you should attend your workplace. In most cases the college will now be setting you work to be completed remotely. If you have any issues with this you should contact your Training Officer for support

Applying for an apprenticeship this year: Tyne North Training is continuing to recruit Engineering and Business Administration apprentices as usual. Just click on the Apply button at the top of this page. We will continue to process applications throughout the coming months. If necessary, we will implement contingency measures and conduct our assessment process online. Anyone who applies or is partway through our process will receive individual communication informing them of any changes
