We monitor the progress and assess the apprentice’s competence against nationally recognised standards. Tyne North Training covers: Newcastle, Northumberland, Gateshead, North and South Tyneside, Washington, Sunderland and County Durham.
Investing in apprenticeships will provide you with an effective method of securing the right skills needed for the future but also enables you to change, adapt and take advantage of market opportunities by moulding tomorrow’s talent to your exact business needs.

Apprenticeships are funded in two different ways depending on the size of the employer…
Larger employers who pay the apprenticeship levy (have an annual pay bill of over £3million) will pay the apprenticeship levy as a tax every month to HMRC. They will also register for an online Apprenticeship Service Account and once the account is set up, HMRC pay the levy straight into the account and the Government tops it up with an extra 10%.
Funds in the Apprenticeship Service Account can then be spent on apprenticeship training delivery. Once an apprentice is registered on the account, the funding is paid monthly to Tyne North Training and if the funds in the Apprenticeship Service Account run out then the government will pay 95% of any overspend – the employer has to pay 5% of any overspend.
Smaller employers who do not pay the apprenticeship levy (have an annual pay bill of less than £3million) depending on the age of the apprentice, the apprenticeship will either be fully funded by the government or the employer will have to pay 5% of the cost.
For those employers who take on an apprentice aged between 16 and 21 years old on the start date of the apprenticeship will be fully funded by the government and the employer will not be liable for any cost.
For those employers who take on an apprentice who is 22 years of age or over on the start date of the apprenticeship, the employer will be liable for 5% of the cost.
All employers manage their apprenticeships funded via an online Apprenticeship Service Account. Follow the link below for guidance on how to set up your account.
